Polish cuisine
Traditional Polish cuisine is very tasty but it is not so much healthy. It is almost impossible to choose a traditional Polish dish which is healthy at the same time ;(. Among tasty and popular Polish dishes are: different kinds of dumplings, bigos (cabbage with meat and mushrooms), gołąbki (staffed cabbage with rice and meat), galareta mięsna/zimne nóżki (jellied meat with vegetables) or anything else with meat. Unfortunately, Polish people don’t eat much vegetables, but hopefully this will change soon.

3.TRADITIONAL VEGETABLE SALAD/TRADYCYJNA SAŁATKA JARZYNOWA
Nowadays for many adult Poles this salad is the symbol of old communist times. It reminds them of their childhood when it was traditionally prepared for Christmas, Easter or any family parties as all the ingredients could be easily bought despite hard communist times when it was really hard to buy any goods in Poland. Because of the mayonnaise it is not very healthy but still we can’t imagine our family parties without it.
INGREDIENTS:
boiled vegetables: a potato, 3-4 carrots, ½ celery,
6-7 hardboiled eggs,
6-7 pickled cucumbers,
½ of small onion or white part of a pore,
1-2 apples,
a can of peas,
a can of corn,
a small jar of mayonnaise,
2-3 tablespoons of mustard,
a pinch of salt and pepper.
PREPARATION:
1. Boil the vegetables (not to make them too tender), peel them, then chop them. Put them into a big bowl.
2. Chop the eggs, cucumbers, peeled apples, onion and pore. Then add them to the bowl.
3. Add peas, corn, mayonnaise, mustard, salt and pepper to the bowl. Mix all the ingredients with a tablespoon.
4. Put it aside for a while then serve it with slices of bread. You can decorate the top of the salad with mayonnaise, canned peas and carrot.
*** To make it healthier you can replace the mayonnaise with yoghurt, but then the salad will lose its traditional taste!
4.PORK CHOP with CHEESE, PINEAPPLE and CRANBERRY/BRYZOL Z SEREM, ANANANASEM I ŻURAWINĄ
Pork chop is a traditional dish served with potatoes and salad. To make it more tasty and attractive the cooks add various ingredients, among them can be cheese, pineapple and cranberry.

6. Serve them hot with potatoes and salad.
***The cheese can be also placed on the top, on the pineapples, not under them. Then it is advisable to make a hole in them to let the cranberries out.
5.COTTAGE CHEESE with CHIVES or RADISH/GZIK ZE SZCZYPIORKIEM LUB RZODKIEWKĄ
Cottage cheese with chives or radish used to be very popular in Poland. It is a traditional dish in Greater Poland, served with potatoes. In other parts of Poland it is served with bread or toasts. Edukacja prozdrowotna /
Getting to know how to lead healthy lifestyle

Year III b gets to know how to lead healthy lifestyle

"Szklanka mleka"/ "Milk. Drink it up!"
Owoce w szkole - Fruit at school
Dzięki udziałowi naszej szkoły w ogólnopolskim programie "Owoce w szkole" uczniowie klas I - III mają możliwość bezpłatnego spożywania jabłek i marchewek.
